Supporter Steffi
World Prematurity Day is coming up on November 17th and the theme this year is ‘a strong start for a hopeful future’. At PKC, we are sharing stories from our community in the lead up including preemie babies, our wonderful knitters and supporters.
Steffi has been a loyal supporter of PKC’s fundraising merchandise over the years.
What motivates you to support PKC by buying our merchandise?
Steffi: While I haven’t personally experienced a NICU stay or had a baby who needed a bit of extra help, some of my close friends have. Having a baby is such a wild ride, and I know that an added layer like a NICU stay can be really tough on whānau. By purchasing PKC merchandise, I feel like I’m playing a small part in helping make that challenging time a little easier and brighter.
What’s your favourite item and why?
Steffi: Easy — my Peggy Squares mug! It’s honestly the best coffee cup ever, and the colours are just *chef’s kiss*.
How does marking World Prematurity Day make you feel connected to the cause?
Steffi: It’s so easy to get caught up in day-to-day life and forget to pause and reflect on how far these tiny but mighty babies have come. Marking World Prematurity Day gives me a chance to acknowledge the incredible strength of these little ones and their families — and to reflect on my own journey into parenthood too.
