We’re inviting anyone aged 18 and under to create artwork inspired by what PKC means to them, kindness, community, tiny babies, whānau, helping others, or whatever comes to mind!
A winning design could become a real PKC fundraising item, helping raise funds to support babies and their whānau in hospitals across Aotearoa.
The competition is open from now until October 17th 2026 and there are two categories, one for primary students and one for secondary students.

Terms & Conditions
By entering PKC’s Community Design Challenge, you agree to the following terms:
1. WHO CAN ENTER
The competition is open to children and teens aged 18 years and under who live in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Entries may be submitted through a school or by an individual.
Entrants under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enter. By submitting an entry, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have given permission for the young person to participate and agree to these Terms & Conditions on their behalf.
2. THE DESIGN
Entries must be the entrant’s own original artwork and idea.
Please do not copy or use artwork, characters, logos, images or designs created by someone else, unless you have permission to do so.
The design should be suitable for use as a PKC fundraising item and reflect the spirit of Premmie Knitting Club and our support for premature babies and their whānau.
3. SHORTLISTING
PKC may shortlist a number of entries for further consideration.
The final winning design will be selected by PKC, taking into consideration creativity, originality, how well the design represents the spirit of PKC and our community.
PKC’s decision will be final.
4. CHOOSING A WINNING DESIGN
PKC will select a winning design based on creativity, originality and how well it represents the spirit of PKC and our community.
PKC reserves the right not to select a winning design if, in its view, no entry is suitable.
PKC’s decision will be final.
5. YOUR DESIGN MAY BECOME A REAL PKC FUNDRAISING ITEM
The exciting part is that PKC may choose to turn the winning design into a real fundraising item, such as clothing or merchandise.
We may make small changes to the design if needed to make it suitable for printing, embroidery, production or fundraising purposes, while keeping the original idea and spirit of the artwork.
PKC is not required to produce the winning design, and we may decide not to use a design for any reason.
If the winning design is turned into a fundraising item, the entrant and their parent/legal guardian understand that PKC may sell the item and use the proceeds to support PKC’s charitable work.
6. PERMISSION TO USE THE WINNING ARTWORK
By entering, the entrant and their parent or legal guardian give Premmie Knitting Club permission to reproduce, adapt, display, publish and use the winning artwork for PKC’s charitable, fundraising and promotional purposes.
This includes using the design on clothing, merchandise, our website, social media, advertising, printed materials and other PKC communications.
PKC may reproduce, adapt and sell products featuring the winning design without needing to seek further permission or pay additional fees or royalties.
Where practical, PKC will acknowledge the young person who created the winning design.
7. COPYRIGHT IN NON-WINNING DESIGNS
The entrant retains copyright in their original artwork if their design is not selected as the winning design.
PKC will not sell or use a non-winning design as a fundraising product without obtaining further permission from the entrant and their parent or legal guardian.
PKC may, however, display shortlisted or submitted entries for purposes connected with the competition, including competition promotion and announcing the results, where applicable.
8. ORIGINAL ARTWORK
By entering, you confirm that the artwork is the entrant’s own original work and does not knowingly infringe someone else’s copyright or intellectual property rights.
If a design includes material created by someone else, PKC may exclude the entry.
The entrant and their parent or legal guardian are responsible for ensuring that the entry does not infringe another person’s rights.
9. PRIZES
If a design is selected to become a PKC fundraising item, the entrant and their parent or legal guardian understand that PKC may use the design to raise funds for our charitable work.
10. HOW THE WINNER WILL BE NOTIFIED
The winner will be notified using the contact details provided with the entry.
Where an entry has been submitted through a school, PKC may contact the school in the first instance.
PKC may also announce the winner publicly through its website, social media or other communications, subject to appropriate parent or legal guardian consent.
11. ENTRY DEADLINE
Entries must be received by October 17th 2026.
Entries received after this date may not be considered.
12. PRIVACY
PKC will only collect and use the information provided with an entry for purposes relating to the competition, contacting the entrant or their parent/guardian, and promoting the competition or winning design.
Any public sharing of an entrant’s name or other information will be subject to the relevant parent or legal guardian consent.
